The International Consensus Meeting (ICM) Traveling Fellowship provides the approved applicant with the unparalleled opportunity to explore their interests in management of musculoskeletal infections by conducting basic-science and/or clinical research.

We are seeking applications for the one-year ICMI Traveling Fellowship. The candidates must have an interest in Orthopedic infections. Having either an MD or a PhD degree is desirable.

​

The one (1) year fellowship may consist of four-month rotations at three different institutions that starts at the International Joints Center at Acibadem in Istanbul under the mentorship of Prof. Javad Parvizi. Additional sites may include Endoklinik in Hamburg, or academic institutions in Barcelona, and Philadelphia. During the fellowship, the candidate is expected to deeply engage in research and will also be given opportunity to observe relevant surgical cases in each institution. It is intended that the fellow will utilize the institutional or administrative databases, or patient population in each institution to address the evidence gap in infection management that was identified by the ICM 2025.

 

A stipend and assistance with obtaining a visa, if needed, will be provided.

Applicant Requirements

​

• Proficient in English, written and spoken (English knowledge a minimum of B2)

• Either an MD or PhD degree or eligible for either degree

• Previous experience in the field of orthopedic infection – laboratory or clinical research is also desirable.
